Big, bustling Naples offers more than its rough-around-the-edges reputation lets on. You will find designer shops, pizzerias, old homes, and grand churches in its many neighborhoods.

It is home to the third largest city in Italy, Naples. This vibrant, bustling metropolis is composed of a mix of neighborhoods that feature ornate mansions alongside gritty street art and old churches next to bohemian drinking spots. These can be enjoyed on a guided street food tour, which is part of Culture Trip's 10-day Southern Italy adventure. It will be led by our Local Insider.

We take you through some of the most exciting neighborhoods in Naples, starting with the once-decadent, beachside villas of the well-to-do Chiaia and ending up at the historical cloisters, castle terraces, and monasteries of the lofty Vomero. A trip to Naples would not be complete without exploring its historical centre, Centro Storico. Unesco-protected parts of this historic center date back to around 600 BCE when the first settlement was established here by the ancient Greeks.

Vomero

The funicular takes you up hilly Vomero to a tranquil, bougie neighborhood that overlooks central Naples. It boasts three historic attractions, all of which offer stunning views. After a few hours of exploring the pastel-hued streets by foot, you can relax in the tranquility afforded by Villa Floridiana, a neoclassical villa built from pale stone. The Certosa di San Martino, an ex-monastery and the imposing citadel Castel Sant’ Elmo are the crowns of the hill. They both boast panoramic terraces and shaded cloisters. Piazza Vanvitelli, the elegant square in the heart of Vomero, is the starting point. It's a collection of stylish streets that allow you to shop for designer clothes and eat at fine restaurants.

Chiaia

Chiaia, home to designer brands such as Armani, Prada, and Louis Vuitton, is the most fashionable shopping and nightlife area in Naples. There are many independent shops that sell hats, including Il Cappellaio which has been selling hats since 1870. Rubinacci is well-known for its fine men's tailoring. Keep an eye out for charming antique treasure troves and bookstores hidden among the large names. You can explore upmarket Chiaia on a stroll through the Villa Comunale Gardens. This greenery strip along the shoreline was originally built as a royal garden in the 18th century. It was later made available to the public after the unification. It's bustling with people who run, walk, and even drink from it.

Quartieri Spagnoli

The Spanish Quarters of Napoli, also known as the Quartieri Spagnoli or Spanish Quarters were constructed in 16th century. It is like a movie set in Naples: there are a lot of people here, including a bunch of laundry hanging between shuttered windows and cigarette-puffing residents who look down from their balconies at the street below. There are also many vendors selling their produce, such as plump olives, plump tomatoes or knobbly citrus fruit. It is best to wander the Quartieri Spagnoli without a map, or a plan. Instead, stop at any shops, churches, and markets that appeal. If you do happen to pass or arrive at the Toledo metro station, it is worth stopping by to view the amazing immersive artwork inside. This will show you a modern side of this historic neighborhood.

Centro Storico

The area that runs north from the beachline, Municipio-Porta Nolana metro stations, is known as the Decumani. This name refers to the original Greco Roman roads that have been around for nearly 3,000 years. Spaccanapoli is also a common name for the area. It's home to many coffee shops, boutiques, crumbling mansions, and some of the best pizzerias in the city. After a break from the bustling streets at Caffe Letterario Intra Moenia, a boho hangout on Piazza Bellini. Next, stop at the MADRE contemporary arts museum, which houses works by Andy Warhol, Anish Kapoor, and Jeff Koons.

Rione Sanita

Sanita, which means health, was named originally because it was outside of the city limits. This allowed aristocratic families to move out of the chaotic, and at times, filthy, city centre. It has a reputation as one of Naples' most gritty districts. This area is a Camorra mafia stronghold, and a place where tourists can be affected by petty criminality. Sanita has slowly been gaining tourist attention due to its unique mix of old palazzi, crumbling apartment blocks, and small shrines decorated with flowers and candles. It is known for the Catacombs de San Gaudioso e San Gennaro and Fontanelle Cemetery, which are still quite scary. The cemetery, which is located in volcanic caves and contains thousands of anonymous remains that were many times victims of the plague epidemic that decimated Naples in 17th century.

Santa Lucia

The Quartieri Spagnoli is just south of this small, seafront area. Its name comes from the colonnaded, pink-colored Santa Lucia a Mare basilica, which has been there since 9th century. This neighbourhood was once a fishing community, where Italians emigrated to America in the late 19th century. It is now a popular place to enjoy fresh Neapolitan seafood dishes in pizzerias and family restaurants. Enjoy white wine-marinated spaghetti or calamari with clams while taking in the stunning views of Mount Vesuvius, the Bay of Naples and other seaside landmarks. Cross the bridge to Borgo Marinari to stretch your legs. This is a small island with old houses and a castle called Castel dell'Ovo.

For women's health, tips for heart, mind, and body - https://www.mpolska24.pl/blog/for-womens-health-tips-for-heart-mind-and-body

If you want to avoid problems such as strokes and heart disease, there is an easy way.

Get more fruits and vegetables.

Whole grains are better than refined ones. Brown rice is better than white. Switch to whole-wheat pasta

Consider lean proteins such as poultry, fish and beans.

Reduce your intake of processed foods, sugar, salt, saturated fat, and other unhealthy food.

Flexibility is key to eating well, according to Joyce Meng, MD assistant professor at UConn Health's Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center. You can follow a strict diet plan if you prefer. It's okay if you don't like following a strict diet plan.

Tricia Montgomery (52), founder of K9 Fit Club knows firsthand the benefits of a healthy diet and lifestyle. Her favorite things are eating healthy food and making small, frequent meals. She says, "I don’t deny myself anything." "I still enjoy dessert, key lime pie, yum!" -- I love frozen gummy bears and moderation is the key.

Get regular checkups. Your doctor will keep track of your medical history so that you can stay healthy. If you are at high risk of osteoporosis (a condition that weakens bones), your doctor may recommend more vitamin D and calcium.

You may be recommended by your doctor to have screening tests done to monitor your health and detect conditions before they become serious.

Be open to communication. Meng said, "If you have any questions, ask your doctor." "Ensure you are satisfied with the information." Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about any medication or procedure.

Reduce Stress

It can be very detrimental to your health. It is impossible to avoid it all, but there are ways you can reduce the effects. Do not take on too many responsibilities. Set limits for yourself and others. It is okay to say no.

To relieve stress, try:

Deep breathing

Meditation

Yoga

Massage

Exercise

Healthy eating

Talking to a friend or family member.

Develop healthy habits

You can prevent problems from coming your way tomorrow if you make the right decisions today.

Brush your teeth twice daily and floss each day.

Don't smoke.

Limit your alcohol. Limit your alcohol intake to 1 drink per day.

Take your medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Get better sleep. Try to sleep for at least 8 hours. Talk to your doctor if you are having trouble sleeping.

Keep out of direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Wear your seatbelt.

Meng suggests that you take time each day to invest in your own health.

Montgomery was able to see the benefits. Montgomery says that she has overcome health issues, is happy, and has a positive outlook. She says that her life has been forever transformed.
